All Alabama surveyors are required to complete 1.0 PDH in Ethics every year, before license renewal. The renewal cycle in Alabama is every two years, with licenses expiring at the end of every odd-numbered year (e.g., 2019, 2021, etc.). Alabama Code of Ethics – 2.0 Contact Hours
The purpose of this program is to provide a correspondence course of study that delivers 2.0 Professional Development Hours (2.0 PDH’s) in the study of Ethics from Chapter 330-X-14., et. seq. “Professional Conduct (Code of Ethics),” of the Alabama Administrative Code (hereinafter the “Alabama Code of Ethics”), promulgated by the Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (the “Board”), as of 2019. This 19-Page document contains the Alabama Code of Ethics, with commentary by Jeffery N. Lucas, Professional Land Surveyors and Attorney at law. This course is accompanied by a 20-question course examination. A certificate of completion for this course will be awarded upon successful completion of the examination provided. Successful completion requires a score of 70% or better on the examination. Questions, comments and test results can be forwarded as indicated below.

OBJECTIVES: To enhance professional competency and improve practitioner’s knowledge of the law and ethics as it relates to the practice of land surveying.
