Mediation – Dispute Resolution for Surveyors
Mediation – Dispute Resolution for Surveyors: Half Day or Full Day (Nominally 4.0 or 8.0 Contact Hours)
Land surveyors have for far too long been merely the finders of problems related to property boundaries, on other occasions the source of boundary problems, but hardly ever the facilitator for solving these problems. The current practice model of finding boundary problems, turning clients away with no remedies, or simply letting the “chips fall where they may” is no longer sustainable. Surveyors need to become problem solvers, not simply problem finders. One of the essential tools that surveyors will need moving forward is the ability to mediate effectively. This course will teach basic mediation skills and allow for interactive participation.
OBJECTIVES: To enhance professional competency and improve practitioner’s knowledge of the law as it relates to the practice of land surveying.
