Principles & Practice VII – 1.5 Contact Hours
The Principles & Practice series is a focus on the fundamental principles of land surveying and how those principles impact land surveying practice. The case-in-chief for this edition is In Re: Boundary Dispute Between Lots 97 and 98 of the C.M. Bost Estate, North Carolina Court of Appeals, 2009. This case is about a retracement survey gone wrong, that involves an original subdividing surveyor and at least five retracing surveyors. The case is really about the fundamental principles of retracement surveying, the definition of surveying boundaries and the practice consequences as a result of all of the above. This is a 2-Page Letter covering one Court Opinion consisting of 8 pages. Altogether, this is a 10-Page document with a 10-Question examination based on the text of the newsletter and the case-in-chief.
